Our fresh food journey.

Though our sushi is made with Japanese skills and flavours, it's still unmistakably Welsh.

We keep Swshi true to its Welsh roots by using fresh, high quality ingredients from local suppliers where possible.

The crab in our rolls is from Cardigan Bay, we get meat from our local butcher in Tregaron, and we use the market in Aberystwyth for our fish. Even the soy sauce we use was made in Abertillery!

As an organisation that makes its living off the sea, we also exclusively use sustainably-sourced fish.

How it all began.

In 2016, Swshi was founded by owners Siôn and Rhiannon to bring fresh, authentic, handmade sushi to the people of Wales.

After many years working as the manager & head chef at the UK's largest national sushi chain, Sion and Rhiannon upped sticks and moved back to rural mid-Wales - where they found a real hankering for good sushi waiting for them.

A couple of pop up nights in Aberystwyth led to the idea of home delivery. This got the sushi-ball rolling and from there, the company was born. You can now find them rocking 'n' rolling at pop up nights, sushi school, and through home deliveries.

Proudly Creating handmade sushi from the heart of Wales since 2016

Team Swshi.

Swshi was created by Siôn and Rhiannon when they moved back to their homeland of Wales, after a number of years working for the UK's biggest sushi chain - where Rhiannon was a head chef.

Not wanting their skills or love of sushi to go to waste, the pair began making sushi for friends and hosting sushi parties.

When several people told them to open a restaurant, they figured that if they were going to bring sushi to rural Wales, they might as well bring it straight to the front door...

They've been creating fresh, handmade sushi and delivering it to people's homes ever since.

You can also find them teaching their skills at Swshi school or hosting pop-up nights at restaurants across Wales.
